~Today’s Message~
“What if we knew the consequences of our decisions?” (Part 2)
Last week, we said “what if” was a question about what could have happened or what could happen in a particular situation “if” something was or had been different. Today, I want us to focus on the word “consequence”. Consequence is a result or affect of our actions or condition. Everyone in the world will face consequences, either good or bad. The choice belongs to every individual. There are things that happen in life that we have no control over, God dosen’t hold us accountable for those things but on the other hand, there are things or decisions that we make that can affect our future for the good or bad. The whole purpose of this message is for each one of us to truly examine our walk with God and be sure we are in His perfect will! Let’s all know that our decisions will affect others, again, of the good or bad. So let’s make some proper adjustments in our walk with God starting NOW!

~Today’s Message~
“What if we knew the consequences of our decisions?”
What if? = A question about what could have happened or what could happen in a particular situation “if” something was or had been different. The question we should ask ourselves daily is, “Is this truly God’s will or my own?” Do we take time for everything else but God? God desires that we become mature in our purpose, for this to happen there has to be a greater love and desire for the Kingdom of God than the worldly lifestyle that most christians live, thinking about our plans, our future, etc. There are only two different choices with only two different outcomes. If christians would study the Bible and know the seriousness of disobeying God and the consequences of serving God halfhearted we would have a more mature church worldwide. We must pray and ask God to show us where satan has access in our lives then acknowledge the problem, be willing to remove it, and know how to remove it. One thing is for sure, to trust God’s ways and be obedient to His plan will always produce good results but to trust in our own understanding or ways will never end up the way we think. No matter where we are in life, God’s plans for us never change, He desires to give us a future of hope!

“Don’t be a fool”
God’s Word has many definitions of a fool but the one that best describes a fool is an unwise person, a person who dose’t believe in God or despises discipline from God. As Christians there is nothing more important in life than studying the Bible and living a rich and full prayer life, this will keep us from making foolish decisions in life. Making a foolish decision every now and the dosen’t make us a fool but living an everyday life based upon our own feelings or desires can eventually transfer us into someone who’s life dosen’t line up with God’s plan which stems from disobedience to God’s Word. No matter what we do, being “outside” of God’s Word is always a lose/lose situation. To avoid this, we must evaluate everything in our lives to make “sure” we are making decisions based upon God’s Word and not our feelings or what benefits our natural life more than our Spiritual walk with God! If we think that God will bless us when we are living for ourselves (a worldly lifestyle), we are fooling ourselves, but, if we are living for God, He is obligated to bless us according to His Word!

"God sees the bigger picture"
Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the thought that I think toward you", says the Lord, "thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope".
Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you". With this being said, we see that God knew every thought we would think, every failure, every victory, every weakness, every strength, every decision we would make and still loves us and wants to bless us with abundant life! We tend to focus on the trials and test we find ourselves in which will bring discouragement. Instead, we should be as God sees and focus on the outcome of these trials and test. They are producing something in our lives that God knows we need to be a reflection of Him. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to bring recovery of sight to the things God has promised us and focus on how He sees us and our future, this will bring true life into us that the world cannot take way!

"Being open to God's will"
Open = Allowing access, passage not closed or blocked up. We christians
must live with open hearts, open lives, and open hands. This simply means that we give God free will in our lives to lead guide, and direct us as He pleases. In other words, when God comes knocking on our heart to do something, we don't have to check our schedule to see if it's available. We all want to see a move of the Holy Spirit like they did in the book of Acts and it's definitely available to us just as it was to them, the only difference is that they left room for Him to do as He pleased. It says that signs and wonders follow those who follow God! Just think about this for a moment, how is your schedule for today tomorrow, the rest of the week? Do you have any "openings" for God's will? Are we willing to cancel some of "our" appointments to allow room for what's more important for the Kingdom of God? This choice is within each of us, don't let the world smother out God's perfect will for your life, be open to God's plan. Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts I think toward you", says the Lord, "thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope"!

We know through Scripture and in our lives we live that there are only two kinds of examples - good ones and bad ones. I believe that every Christian who ever lived has been on both sides, I also believe if we would truly pray and seek God on behalf of everything, we would save ourselves a lot of trouble and be less of a bad example. We said last week that a Godly example is someone who is deeply rooted in God's love and obey's God's commands and that we can't be a Godly example apart from knowing and following the Word of God, this is the written and spoken Word of God. Our lives should always show others that God is bigger than our troubles and that in our troubles is where our example is shown the most. Our obedience to God will reflect a love for God and therefore always produce a good example.

A Godly example is someone who is deeply rooted in God’s love and obeys God’s commands. We cannot be a Godly example apart from knowing and following the Word of God. When a person gets saved, the people around them should begin to notice a change, this is not a forceable change, it becomes our new nature to be like Christ. Paul said we are being “transformed” into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Let’s all take it real serious that our example can mean life or death to the people that come in and out of our lives. People will most often read our lives before they read the Bible. The good news of Jesus Christ is more than just facts to be believed, It is also a life to be lived - a life of righteousness.
