Burying The Past

Burying The Past
 
I used the word "burying" in the present tense because that's what we will be
doing today. Bury = To completely cover; cause to disappear, final
disposition. I've done a lot of funerals in my life and the grave site is usually the hardest part, saying goodbye to someone we love. As Christians, we have a natural body but are Spiritual beings therefore we will have to deal with natural things but in a spiritual way. Throughout the old testament, God's people dealt with sin through the sacrifices of animals, but that only pushed back or was a temporary fix for sin until the coming of the Messiah - Jesus.
Today through the Cross of Christ we live under the 'New Covenant", a better Covenant, a perfect Covenant, an everlasting Covenant, one that paid for all of our past, present, and future sins once and for all! It's our choice as to how we will live in the future but to have the abundant life Jesus paid for us to have we must completely let go of and bury our past! Are you ready to experience the beauty of a resurrected life?

Living By Faith In Christ

Living By Faith In Christ
 
To live by, means to follow a particular belief or set of principles. In our case as Christians, it means to live by the Word of God! Romans 10:17 says - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God. We have so many uncertainties in our human lives that will drag us down in our mind, spirit, and body if we do not properly address them with the Word of God. A person cannot become a Christian without faith (Eph. 2:8) and a Christian cannot stay a Christian without faith. The devil is constantly throwing things at us to test our faith. A sign of weakness to him is when he sees fear, doubt, or unbelief in us. We all will at some point get weak when in a spiritual battle out we don't have to live with defeat. We are overcomers in Christ! True faith is trusting God even when we don't understand or feel like we’re not gonna make it. In the days ahead because of what's coming, the world will panic and be full of fear, that's when they need to see Christians totally trusting that
"God has us", these three little words say a lot about where our faith is!

Living With The Freedom Of Christ

Living With The Freedom Of Christ
The freedom God offers throughout Scripture is freedom from the enslaving power of sin in our lives. The Scripture teaches that the only truly free people in the world are those who have made Christ their Savior and Lord! Jesus said in John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free". The truth is when Jesus Christ died and shed His innocent blood on the Cross, the price was fully paid for every confessed sin that would ever be committed and had been committed. In other words, Jesus paid all of our debt so that we could be totally free from the bondage and penalty of sin which always brings separation from God. Satan has many strategies to put people in bondage but there is only ONE way to freedom. John 8:36 says - Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Jesus has power to free us and keep us free, that's something to be thankful for everyday!

Love As Christ Loves
 
No one on this earth will ever be able to comprehend the hurt, pain, sorrow, and rejection that took place between the Father God and the Son Jesus Christ. When we read John 3:16 we see something beautiful and amazing for us, but let's not forget why we can enjoy the benefits of salvation, being saved from an eternity of hell fire. It is because God saw that our sins had separated us from a relationship with Him, the very reason He created children. It was love for us that sent Jesus to the earth, it was love that held Jesus to the cross, it was love that raised Him from the grave and it was love that sent the Holy Spirit to come and live within our hearts! the same love that caused all these things to happen should cause us to love others as Christ loves them. Love is always action, you can do works without love but you cannot have love without works. Love involves self sacrifice and obedience to God's Word.

Be Careful Not To Live With Regrets
 
Regret is knowing to do something, or not to do it, and doing the opposite, then seeing the results of it later. Regret is our inner conscience way of telling us to take another look at our choices, it's a signal that our actions may be leading to something negative. Every person has something in their life that they regret over. The lesson is to learn from past mistakes and not continue to make fleshly choices that leads to more regrets. Praise God that He gives us wisdom and knowledge through prayer and His Word that we as Christians can avoid certain traps that the enemy of our soul plants in our paths everyday! I pray for every Christian today to bury our past regrets and walk in God's forgiveness, love, and a new beginning that will bring a clear conscience and a total trust in Jesus that will enable us to make better choices in our future!
